5:51 am PST. Since about three years ago I started telling everyone I know about the Fukushima radiation reaching California shores. People were wondering about why all the starfish were disappearing and the seals looking like they have radiation sickness. NO ONE wanted to listen to what I had to say. NO ONE!!! Parents I talked to would turn their heads away from me and then not bother to talk to me anymore. LOL. I am telling you folks people want to bury their heads in the sand. I just gave up. Man, people just want to die or something. It is crazy.

And Hillary even raised the allowable limits of radiation in food after Fukushima. Can you believe that? How cow, I am so glad she is not in office.

I have taken personal steps to protect my children as best I can, short of moving out of California, which I would like to do, but husband does not – he is one of those put your head in the sand people. He thinks I am over-reacting. Go figure. My sister in law, a clinical psychologist, told me “Just forget about it” or something to the effect of think about something else. LOLOLOLOL! Who is the one who is insane here, you or me?

I can tell you that I do not know of anyone who is doing what I am doing to ameliorate the situation if you are stuck living in California because Fukushima is on California shores. I no longer eat Alaskan wild salmon. Anything from the Pacific – forget it, I do not eat. That is only just the tip of the iceberg of what I do. Baking soda cleans up uranium, iodine blocks radioactive iodine, but then you also have cesium, strontium and plutonium to deal with. Best I can think of is clay in that regard. Best thing is to live not on the California coast.

I see a lot of toddlers who suddenly burst out with bloody noses at school. Seriously, not uncommon here.  All the rain we’ve been getting  – Fukushima radiation in it, I can bet on it, 1000%, yep.

It is really sad, actually. Just a few years ago I took my kids to a popular tide pool – Fitzgerald Marine Preserve, and we had the good fortune to see several living, brightly colored, and beautiful moving starfish. It was really exciting, actually. I took them back last year because I really wanted to see for myself how marine life was doing. I think we saw one small, muddy colored one, that was not moving at all. One of the rangers also came up to use and told us not to touch it because the starfish were dying. I already knew that. I wanted to tell her it was because of Fukushima, but why bother getting into depression discussion. It is supposed to be a secret.

There needs to be a concerted global effort to fix Fukushima. The Japanese cannot do it alone. As far as I understand it, the Japanese government has been in denial over the gravity of the disaster. I am Asian and I understand about losing face. But c’mon, this is beyond losing face, and it was caused by a natural disaster, an act of god. Just because it was caused by nature does not make it okay to let the radiation continue to leak. Denial now is beyond reckless disregard, it is turning into criminal intent. And the 2020 Olympics are supposed to take place in Tokyo. Good luck with that.
